UPCL offers Rs 1 cr for developing Bada GP

Adani UPCL has handed over a Rs 1 crore CSR Grant Confirmation Letter to Bada Gram Panchayat.

The letter was handed over to Tenka Gram Panchayat for undertaking development works under CSR programme in the villages of Bada Panchayat for the financial year 2017-18.

The list containing the village development works for execution and the confirmation letter were mutually exchanged by Bada Gram Panchayat president Nagaratna Karkera and Adani UPCL Joint president Kishore Alva.

Kishore Alva said that Adani UPCL has declared a CSR grant of Rs 22.73 crore to the surrounding seven Gram Panchayats for a period of three years wherein Bada Gram Panchayat has got the grant of Rs 3 crore. UPCL has offered to take up the development works phase-wise over a period of three years. During the year 2016-17, UPCL executed works worth Rs 35 lakh involving the construction of safe drinking water unit worth Rs 20 lakh; supply of steel worth Rs 10 lakh for the construction of the compound wall for Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple and concreting of Subhash Road near National Highway at a cost of Rs 5 lakh. In addition, the contracts for development works worth Rs 30 lakh have been already awarded and it would be completed in a few days, Alva said.

Construction of the first floor for the Panchayat building, concreting of seven existing roads, construction of three new roads, erection of high mast lights, stone laying for the natural drain are a few of the major works included in the action plan submitted by the gram panchayat.

Bada Gram Panchayat vice president Indira S Shetty, Udupi Taluk Panchayat member U C Shekabba, UPCL AGM Girish Navada and Senior Manager Ravi Jere were present on the occasion.
