Women jump start two-day car rally

An all-women car rally from Bengaluru to Kodagu was kicked off on Friday to unleash the power of women drivers.  

More than 150 participants took part in Driven 3.0 which was flagged off by Dipika Trehan, woman entrepreneur of Health of Women Forum (HOW) and Vandana Suri from Taxshe (a social enterprise that trains women to take up driving as a career), from Bowring Institute at St Mark's Road.

The rally aims to promote road safety and women participation in driving. It witnessed more than 150 women participating in the event. A break from their daily routine, the participants in the two-day rally will pass through Ramnagara, Mandya, Hunsur, Kushalnagar and Talacauvery.

One of the participants in the rally, Rashmi Gowda, said: "This event is bringing women who love driving together. It offers a chance to break away from the mundane activities of day-to-day life and enjoy new activities with other like-minded women."

Arvind J Sabhaney, CEO, Zeroin Management Pvt Ltd who organised event said that the rally was aimed at breaking stereotypes and  countering the set perceptions about a woman's driving skills with a lot of fun.
