The Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, on the second day on Saturday, received a overwhelming response. A large number of people from different parts of the state attended various events.

As it was the weekend, many visitors thronged the city and enjoyed the literary festival. According to the organisers, two lakh people visited till Saturday noon.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Manu Baligar said the response of the people showed their interest in the language, culture and tradition. The event is a great success, he said.

People actively attended the sessions held at the main venue (Maharaja's College grounds), centenary hall of the Maharaja's College and Kalamandira.

Thousands of people have been visiting the more than 450 book stalls at the main venue. Almost all of them were crowded. One of the shopkeepers said people were very enthusiastic in purchasing books and were asking for some rare ones.

The roads leading to the Maharaja's College grounds witnessed traffic jams at several points. The traffic police did their best, but they found it difficult to manage the traffic and movement of people.

Many people at the venue suffered from allergy due to the dusty ground. The makeshift hospital set up by the Mysuru City Corporation and the health department offered treatment to those affected.

One of the participants developed a health issue and was shifted to the K R Hospital on Friday.
