Agarwal slams 4th ton in a row

Mayank Agarwal created a record after becoming the first Karnataka player to score four consecutive centuries in Ranji Trophy.

Following scores of 304 not out, 176, 23 and 133 not out, the 26-year-old dashing batsman came into the game against Railways in the form of his life. And despite seeing his side being reduced to 19/3, Agarwal showed no fear whatsoever, plundering a superb counter-attacking 241-ball 173 (17x4, 1x6).

Agarwal thus surpassed legends Brijesh Patel, Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid as well as team-mate Karun Nair and former team-mate Robin Uthappa. Agarwal also surpassed 2,000 runs in the country's premier first class tournament, becoming the 33rd player from the State to do so. With Manish Pandey also hitting a century, Karnataka had reached 355 for six on the opening day.
