Kempaiah deputed to protect minister: BJP

BJP general secretary Shobha Karandlaje on Monday charged that the government had deputed home minister's adviser Kempaiah to "protect" Mines and Geology Minister Vinay Kulkarni by hushing up the murder case of Dharwad ZP member Yogesh Goudar.

"What was the need for Kempaiah to speak to the investigation officer in the murder case, hold talks with the members of Goudar's family and local police officers in Dharwad," Shobha said, while addressing a press conference here. She blamed the government for systematically trying to destroy evidence in the two cases.
