Repair works halt trains between B'luru, Mysuru

Trains services were affected on the Channapatna-Shettihalli stretch of the Bengaluru-Mysuru line due to repair works between 3 pm and 5.30 pm on Saturday.

While the Malgudi Express was halted near Shettihalli, Tipu Express was stopped at Channapatna and a few passenger trains at Ramanagaram station. The trains left the stations after the repair works were completed.

Passengers in these trains faced inconvenience due to the 'sudden' and 'unilateral' change in the schedule of the services.

The train compartments were jampacked as a number of people were travelling between the two cities as it was a holiday on account of Eid Milad and the weekend. While some passengers alighted and went to the bus stations to catch buses to their destinations, others chose to wait.

The passengers were disappointed that the South Western Railway (SWR) authorities did not make a prior announcement about the repairs and the disruption in services.

However, SWR officials claimed the repairs were pre-scheduled and sufficient information had been given out.
