AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal on Tuesday said he will quit politics if charges of his involvement in solar panel scam in Kerala are proven.
"The CPM is in power in Kerala and not the Congress. Let there be an investigation into the charges. I am ready to face it," he told reporters seeking his reaction on the issue.
A judicial commission report on the scam had indicted number of Congress leaders, including Venugopal. Besides, prime accused in the scam case Saritha Nair named Venugopal among others who had sexually assaulted her.
On the charge of sexual assault, the Congress leader reiterated that it is politically motivated. "I have filed a defamation case in this regard...Let the BJP stage a protest," he added.
