A 42-year-old woman and her speech-impaired daughter were found dead on the railway tracks between Kengeri and Hejjala stations, West Bengaluru, on Monday evening. The railway police suspect depression drove the women to suicide.
The bodies of Girijamma and 21-year-old Shwetha were spotted by the loco pilot of a train. He called up the railway station staff who, in turn, informed the railway police. The bodies were later taken away for post-mortem. The railway police said they didn't find any suicide note and have opened a case of unnatural deaths.
The women lived in Babusapalya and worked as domestic help. Girijamma's husband Narayana, an auto-rickshaw driver, told the police he had spoken to his wife in the afternoon and everything seemed fine.
