Haryana removes Fortis hospital from govt panel

After the indictment of Fortis hospital in Gurugram for serious medical lapses in the death a seven-year old girl during her treatment for dengue, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij  on Friday  ordered the removal of Fortis hospital from the panel of state government.

The girl's  parents  were charged a whopping Rs 16 lakh. The minister said that on the basis of  a report of by an investigation team constituted under Additional Director Deneral of the department, Dr Rajiv Vadhera, directions have been issued to register an FIR against the hospital. Its licence for blood bank will also be cancelled, he added.

Apart from this, the Haryana Urban Development Authority has been directed to find out possibilities of cancelling the lease of land to Fortis hospital, Vij said.
