Dalit youths enter temple in Pandavapura

Dalit youths of M Bettahalli entered Shambulingeshwara temple at Bagashettahalli in the taluk on Thursday and offered prayers.

The temple belongs to Muzrai department. Though there wasn't any kind of ban, the Dalits were not visiting the temple all these years. After villagers lodged a complaint with the authorities that Dalits were not allowed entry into the temple, a few Dalit youths, led by Srirangapatna DySP Vishwanath entered the temple and paid obeisance on Thursday.

It may be mentioned that the Shambulingeshwara jatra, which was not held for two years due to various issues was conducted by the Taluk administration this year, in a successful manner.
