Belagere back in jail after treatment in Victoria

Senior journalist Ravi Belagere was taken to Victoria Hospital from Bengaluru Central Prisons at Parappana Agrahara on Tuesday night after the doctors at the jail hospital found variations in his blood pressure and sugar levels and, his legs were swollen.

After ensuring him necessary treatment at Victoria Hospital, he was taken back to the jail. He was arrested on December 8 on the charge of of hiring a supari killer to eliminate his collegue Sunil Heggaravalli.

Belagere's daughter Chethana and son Karna visted him on Tuesday morning at the prison and gave him home-cooked food and medicine. They spent about half-an-hour with him.

Meanwhile, the Subramanyapura police are on the lookout for Belagere's assistant Madhu in connection with a complaint filed by Heggaravalli that Belagere had threatened him from Madhu's phone when he was in the police custody.

Belagere was in CCB custody for four days before he was remanded in judicial custody and shifted to the prison on Monday. Ever since he was moved to the prison, he has been lodged at the prison hospital.
