NIA probe demanded into Paresh Mesta death case

Condemning the death of Paresh Mesta in Honnavar, the activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal staged a protest at General Thimmaiah Circle on Wednesday and urged the government to hand over the case to National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The protesters formed a human chain and accused the state government of taking an anti-Hindu stand on the issue. They shouted slogans against the state government on the occasion.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary D Narasimha said that although such an incident has occurred in the state, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy have not reacted on the issue.

BJPdistrict committee generalsecretary Ravi Kushalappa said that the law and order situation in the state has witnessed a breakdown. The government is hurting the religious sentiments of the majority. The death of Mesta was not a natural death. The related tests should be conducted in the forensic laboratory. The police should conduct an unbiased investigation, without succumbing to any pressure.

M B Devaiah, Bajrang Dal co-convener Chethan, taluk convener Ganesh and leaders Prasanna Bhat, Ravi Kalappa and Dhananjaya were present.
