India on Wednesday said that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj agreed with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that the political maturity of both sides had helped resolve the military face-off at Doklam Plateau earlier this year, reports DHNS from New Delhi.

New Delhi on Wednesday said that Sushma and Wang both noted the "challenge" the face-off at Doklam Plateau had posed to the relationship and both expressed satisfaction that it had been "resolved with the disengagement of troops at the face-off site through concerted diplomatic communications".

Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, quoted Wang telling Sushma that that the peaceful resolution of the face-off had reflected "the political maturity on both sides".

"While agreeing with this, EAM (Swaraj) reiterated that the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the border areas is an essential pre-requisite for the smooth development of bilateral relations," the MEA spokesperson said in New Delhi.
