Horticulture dept to renovate Marigowda Hall at Lalbagh

After rebuilding Krumbiegel Hall and renovating the aquarium at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, the horticulture department will now renovate H M Marigowda Hall.

The decision was taken based on a scientific report prepared by the department along with the officials from Public Works Department and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Civil Aid Techno Clinic Private Limited, Bengaluru.

The members, who conducted a survey, had held two meetings - one on November 23 and the other on December 7.

The details of the December 7 meeting was published in DH and the same has been stated in an official letter sent by the horticulture department dated December 12.

At the meeting, it was decided to use the remains at the site of the Krumbiegel Hall to recreate the new structure and also to restore the aquarium. It was also decided to renovate Marigowda Hall after completing works at Krumbiegel Hall and the aquarium.
