A 20-year-old woman was admitted to a hospital after she complained of unbearable stomach ache and vomiting. She had reportedly consumed water offered by her relative who is also accused of allegedly harassing her sexually. The man has been booked under various IPC sections.

Nagesh (22), a daily wage worker and resident of Kaukradi village in Uppinangadi had allegedly sexually harassed the girl and has been booked under Pocso Act in 2014. The victim also gave birth to a baby.

While investigations are still on before the court, the accused called the victim over the phone and asked her to come to Uppinangadi police station on the pretext of discussing the matter related to the case.

When she reached Uppinangadi, he persuaded her to withdraw the case against him and promised to marry her. Nagesh then reportedly offered her water which the latter drank in good faith. However, his condition to withdraw the case was not agreed upon by the girl and she returned to her place. She later suffered stomach ache followed by vomiting. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The incident came to light when she narrated the incident to the hospital authorities.

Police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the girl.
