BJP workers say 'today Gujarat, tomorrow Karnataka'

BJP workers celebrated the victory of the party in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, by bursting crackers in front of MP Pralhad Joshi's residence at Mayuri Estate here on Monday, while BJP's Mahila Morcha members performed a dance also.

Raising slogans, BJP members exchanged sweets, and said, "today Gujarat, tomorrow Karnataka'. Later in the evening, a Vijayotsava was held at Old Hubballi Durgadabail also.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Pralhad Joshi stated that the BJP has come to power in 19 States in the country and Karnataka would be the 20th State. Though the number of seats won by the BJP in Gujarat has come down, vote share is increased by 2% compared to 2012 elections, he said.

"All negative forces were united against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and they tried to misguide people in Gujarat. Even Patidar community members' mind was poisoned. But, the BJP's good governance got support. It will have impact on Karnataka Assembly elections also, and 'pack up time' has come for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah," he said.

Allegation about manipulation of electronic voting machines (EVMs) is meaningless, and why such voice was not raised when non-BJP parties won in Delhi, Bihar and Punjab elections wherein EVMs were used, and even in by-elections held in Karnataka, he asked.

Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar stated that people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh have expressed support to the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the BJP would soon come to power in most of the States in the country. This result would have impact on the Assembly elections to be held in Karnataka also, and people here are already expressing support to the BJP, he added.

Mayor D K Chavan, Deputy Mayor Laxmibai Bijwad, Corporators Shivu Menasinkai, Shivanand Muttannavar, BJP leaders M Nagaraj, Nagesh Kalburgi, and others were present.
