Will gather party workers' views, announce candidates says Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Monday, that he would gather the opinions of party workers and also announce the names of Congress candidates for the Assembly elections, in places he visits.

It is necessary to choose candidates who are loyal to the party, he added. He spoke to reporters at the helipad at Bagalkote, Karnataka,

"The Narendra Modi and Amit Shah wave is diminishing. In the Gujarat elections, Congress which had won 44 seats last time, has won 80 seats this time. The true victory in Gujarat is that of the Congress party and not the BJP," the CM asserted.

He maintained that winning almost double the number of seats in the Gujarat polls proved that its voters had complete faith in AICC president Rahul Gandhi's leadership.

Siddaramaiah disclosed that some opposition MLA's wanted to defect to the Congress and were 'in touch with' him.
