Rs 1.87-lakh heist at ATM

Thieves made off with Rs 1.87 lakh by looting an ATM of Dhanlaxmi Bank on Lakshmipura Main Road  at Madanayakanahalli near Nelamangala, North Bengaluru.

The security guard left for home around 11.30 pm on Sunday. The burglars, with their faces  masked, closed the shutter of the kiosk and used a  gas cutter to break open the ATM, the  Madanayakanahalli police said. The heist emerged around 12.30 pm on Monday when Dhananjaya, a housekeeper, arrived. He alerted the manager, Ravikumar, who called the police.  

Police visited the spot with fingerprints experts and sniffer  dogs. They are reviewing the  CCTV camera footage to hunt down the culprits.
