'Tumakuru district CPI convention on Dec 24'

The Communist Party of India (CPI) will hold its 12th district public convention on Sunday December 24 said the party's District Secretary Kombe Gowda.  

He was speaking to reporters in Tumakuru city on Thursday.  

Gowda said that the rally would be held before the City Municipal Corporation (CMC) building at the Townhall circle. Party workers, industry workers, farmers, students and others will participate.  

On the day before the convention (December 23), a representatives' convention will be held at the T R Revanna Bhavan in Shivamookambika nagar.  

Gowda said that the conventions are held once in three years at the national, state, district, taluk levels. "At these conventions we discuss our struggle against anti-democratic, anti-worker and anti-communal forces".    

"We will try to gather like-minded people to defeat communal parties like the BJP and shortlist candidates for the 2018 polls,"Gowda added.
