Airlines offer rates for a Happy New Year

As 2017 draws to a close, airlines are lining up attractive offers and discounts on tickets, enabling patrons to make the most of the ongoing vacation season.

SpiceJet has come out with a unique scheme by which, 'passengers who book a flight to a destination could get the entire amount back'. Under this scheme, flyers have the option to redeem their full all-inclusive airfare. This offer has already commenced on December 1 but is available until December 31, 2017. Travel through the scheme, which can be availed through the airline's website, is valid up to March 31, 2018.

India's largest airline by market share, IndiGo is offering flight tickets starting at Rs 999 (for the Delhi to Jaipur flight), while Bagdogra-Guwahati tickets can be availed at Rs 1,005, Coimbatore-Chennai at Rs 1,095, and Jammu-Srinagar at Rs 1,112, while a Chennai-Bengaluru flight ticket would cost Rs 1,120. IndiGo has also introduced a daily, non-stop flight from Bengaluru to Colombo for fares starting from Rs 5,999. It also announced Bengaluru-Tirupati flights on its new fleet of ATRs, starting at Rs 1,499.

AirAsia India is offering flights to Bengaluru, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ranchi, and New Delhi, among other destinations, for prices starting from Rs 1,399, its website said. The bookings for the same are open until December 24, 2017, while travel is valid until June 30, 2018.

Meanwhile, GoAir is offering domestic flight tickets from an all-inclusive price of Rs 1,005 on select routes under the 'GoAir Sale to 2018' scheme. Tickets can be availed under this scheme until December 31, while the special fares will be available for travel between January 10 and July 31, 2018.

India's largest full-service private carrier Jet Airways has announced a flat 10% off on base fares in Economy, and up to 15% off on Premiere fares, with guests being able to realise attractive savings on popular sectors across the airline's domestic network of 44 destinations in the New Year.

The eleven-day fare sale beginning December 23, 2017, until January 2, 2018, will be valid for Economy and Premiere travel on select domestic destinations of the Jet Airways' network for one-way bookings. During the sale, guests may book economy tickets starting at Rs 1,001, with a  travel validity that commences from January 15, 2018, onwards. The special fares will be applicable on all direct flights operated by the airline.

Meanwhile, Air Deccan will be taking off on its maiden flight under UDAN on December 23, when its Mumbai-Nashik operations commence.
