Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal will visit Sindkhed Raja in Buldhana in Maharashtra, known for political reforms and also the birthplace of Jijabai, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

"We are sounding the bugle of alternative politics in Maharashtra," AAP national spokesperson Preeti Sharma Menon said, about the January 12, 2018 visit of Kejriwal.

"We will commemorate the birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijabai. Kejriwal will pay his tribute at her birthplace in Sindkhed Raja,"   Preeti said.

He will be joined by AAP's Maharashtra in-charge and National Secretary Pankaj Gupta and all leaders and volunteers of AAP Maharashtra unit.

"Rajmata Jijabai remains the most towering beacon of women's empowerment in the world even 420 years later. She laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire in Pune and gave us Shivaji Maharaj, a leader whose bravery and justice are unmatched in the annals of history," she said.
