Temperature dips in Kodagu

The residents of the district have been experiencing winter, with the temperature hovering between 26 and 12 degree Celsius the past few days.

The residents have started pulling out their woollens, and several morning walkers are either staying indoors or have changed their timings.

The cold weather has intensified since December 17. Normally, the district witnesses misty weather in the months of November and December. Although such misty condition has declined, the temperature is still low, even in the mid-afternoon. It is a common scene in the district of a group of people making a bonfire beside the road even in the afternoon to beat the cold.

Tourists are also thronging the district to experience Nature at Mandalpatti, Tadiyandamol, Talacauvery, Meranakote Betta and Brahmagiri ranges.

Although the water in the rivers and waterfalls has reduced, the tourists are enjoying by sight. The breathtaking view at Raja Seat has been mesmerising the visitors during the sunset.

Other side

The dip in temperature has been inconveniencing the labour class and vehicle drivers. As the coffee and paddy harvest work is in progress, the labourers are finding it difficult to work in the biting cold.

The style and timings of the morning walkers in Raja Seat and Rajara Gadduge have changed.

Two-wheeler riders use hand gloves, hat, sweater, and shoes before riding.
