Youth arrested for wheelie stunt

A 21-year-old youth, performing wheelies and other dangerous stunts on his bike on the airport flyover near the Jakkur flying school,  was arrested on Sunday.

The youth, identified as Mudasir Pasha, a resident of Yelahanka New Town, was arrested for dangerous riding, and his bike has been seized, the police said.

Pasha used to do wheelies on the Jakkur flyover and the main roads in Yelahanka New Town. Motorists, residents of Judicial Layout and surrounding areas were often disturbed by the loud noise of his bike, which was modified to perform stunts.

There were also reports of a few accidents that were caused due to Pasha's bike  stunts.

According to the police, some people had taken photographs of Pasha performing dangerous stunts and sent it to the authorities on Sunday.

"We had additional patrols and caught him while he was performing wheelies. A case has been registered against Pasha under IPC 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and the Motor Vehicle Act. It has been recommended that his licence be suspended," a senior police officer said.
