'Team Dharwad' membership growing

'Team Dharwad', a Telegram messenger group, formed to provide a common platform for citizens and government officials to interact on grievances, development works and other issues, now has more than 1,200 members, and is growing.

After District In-charge Secretary P Manivannan gave instruction to form such groups, in a drought situation review meeting held in the month of March, 'Team Dharwad' Telegram messenger group was formed. Citizens, social activists, members of various organisations, businessmen, and government officials are in this group. Control rooms of the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) and Social Welfare Department are also part of this, to attend the complaints.

To strengthen this initiative, under which public grievance can be brought to the notice of officials and get them redressed, suggestions on development aspects can be given, and best practices can be shared, Mr Manivannan has now asked the group members to add more people.

Moreover, Mr Manivannan has written letters to deputy commissioner, police commissioner and superintendent of police, asking that to ensure that all Group A and B officials in the district join this group by December 31 without fail, while it is optional for Group C and D employees.

Meanwhile more citizens are also being added to this group on Telegram mobile app, and its membership is growing.
