Bengaluru's historic National High School in Basavangudi is sporting a new look for the centenary celebrations on December 30, 2017. The event will be held on National College grounds, Basavanagudi, which will be jointly done by Adamyachethana trust.

President Ram Nath Kovind will be inaugurating the event, which also be graced by Karnataka Governor Vajhu Bhai Vala, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Union Minister Ananth Kumar and others.

"This is a rare occasion for the educational institution in the present day to complete 100 years. It's a known fact that education has become business. But we are proud to say that we are still on the top and one of the prestigious institution in Karnataka. This is because of the dedication level of our faculties, which helped us to reach heights," said AH Ram Rao, President, National Education Society.

The institution was founded by Dr Annie Besant in the year 1917 to imbibe patriotism and the spirit of self-service among the students. The institution played a pivotal role in India's Independence movement. Now they have twenty institutions in their ambit, which ten of them are in the most backward backward Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka - Bagepalli and Gowribidanur.

Till date, the National Education Society (NES) has nearly 20 lakh students across the globe, who have made big names in many fields. Besides education, the institution is also known for its theatre, music, dance, sports and many other fields.
