Last Updated 30 December 2017, 15:26 IST

Bengaluru has raced Indian fashion capital Delhi in terms of annual average transaction value of fashion spends in 2017, with shoppers in Bengaluru spending an average Rs 2,800 compared with Rs 2,200 in Delhi.

According to Fashalot, and O2O (online-to-offline) location-based fashion discovery platform, which studied data from 2.5 lakh walk-ins across over 5,000 stores in the two cities, an average Bengalurean shops from an  about five brands compared with eight in Delhi.

Despite this, brand operating was found to be a challenge in Delhi because of extensive street shopping options. The study did note that in Delhi, shoppers prefer street shopping. However in Bengaluru, shoppers were found to be more inclined towards malls, presumably because of the lack of a dominant street shopping  culture and options here.

Speaking on the trend report  Rishi Batra, Co-Founder, Fashalot  said,  "A customer is not brand loyal any more, with many options available in any category due to which, end of season sales now start very early and are much longer than  they used to be." Fashalot.com is mobile marketing platform that connects fashion brands with shoppers and drives footfalls with artificial intelligence.
