Police brace up for trouble-free New Year celebrations in Mysuru

As the city is gearing up to usher in the New Year with a bang, City Police Commissioner Dr A Subramanyeshwar Rao has formed three Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) teams, to ensure the safety of women and children during the celebrations on Sunday night.

A large number of women, as well as children, participate in the celebrations organised at different places in the city. In view of ensuring the safety of the people, the police have formed the special teams under three police sub-divisions - Narasimharaja, Devaraja and Krishnaraja. During emergency, the people can call: 88617 86328, 94808 02235, 88617 86343, 100, 0821-2418339, or 2418514, for help.

This New Year, the police have allowed hotels, eateries, bars, restaurants, and recreational clubs to function till 1 am, on January 1, 2018. The police have also asked the managements of various establishments and organisations to take necessary precautionary measures to maintain public order and not to create a nuisance to individuals and people at large, due to the playing of loud music.

The police have warned of legal action against the organisers and the people, who create the nuisance to the people, during the night of December 31.

Packages

In view of the celebrations, various establishments have announced packages for couples and also stags. Hotel Adeline, on Krishna Vilas Road, Chamaraja Mohalla has announced two packages -- Adeline Elegance and Bollywood Blowout. While it is Rs 999 for adults per head and Rs 499 for children for Elegance, it is Rs 2,499 for couples and Rs 1,499 for a stag for Blowout on Sunday evening.

Cabana Gardens, on Bogadi Ring Road, is organising the Platinum Plus event, which costs Rs 4,999 for couples, Rs 2,999 for stag, Rs 1,999 for angels and Rs 999 for children.
