BMTC reduces fare to airport, offers group discount

The BMTC has introduced a 15% discount for group passengers (above three) travelling from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Bus fares to KIA from four locations in the city are also reduced.

While the discount on the group fare is available only from the airport, the reduction in the fare is a pilot project that will end in a month.

The fare from Mekhri Circle to KIA has been reduced from Rs 190 to Rs 175, from Hebbal the fare is  reduced to Rs 150. Esteem Mall (Rs 140) and Kogilu Cross (Rs 125) have seen the steepest cuts.

For those travelling to KIA from Hunasamaranahalli, the fare has been fixed at Rs 100. The fares do not reflect the 5% GST and Rs 12 toll fee charged by the BMTC.

A BMTC spokesperson said that the new rates are subject to revision at the end of January. "The discount on group tickets will continue. Group discount will also be offered in all the Vayu Vajra services across the city in the next phase," she said.
