The students had been to the Manasa Amusement and Water Park in Pilikula on Mangaluru outskirts on Tuesday, where they were assaulted by men claiming to be Hindu activists. According to DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya, police arrested Sampath Shetty, Varada and Dinesh following a complaint by one of the victims.
