International seminar on WW at St Aloysius College from today

St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, will organise an international seminar on 'The first world war: Indian context', on January 5 and 6.

The international seminar is being sponsored by the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi.

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, Principal Fr Praveen Martis said that the programme will be inaugurated by Air Marshal K C
Cariappa on January 5 at 9.30 am.

Prof Kaushik Roy of Jadhavpur University will deliver the keynote address.

Special lectures

Scholars Peter Stanley of Defence Studies from Australia, Allan Jaffreys from UK and Scott Moranda from U S will deliver special lectures.

Also, professors from India, serving in various countries will also deliver speeches on the occasion.

Valedictory programme

The valedictory programme will be held on January 6 at 3.30 pm.

Mangalore University History department former Chairman Prof B Surendra Rao will be the chief guest for the valedictory programme.

St Aloysius College Registrar Dr A M Narahari, Vice Principal Dr Alwyn D'Sa, History department head Dr Vishanz Pinto and QAC coordinator Dr Denis Fernandes were present at the press meet.
