23-year-old woman commits suicide

A 23-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Goripalya, Jagjivan Ram Nagar on Thursday.

The deceased identified as Vasundhara was a native of Andhra Pradesh. She was married to a BBMP pourakarmika, Anand.

They are residents of V S Garden and have a son, the police said.

According to the police, the incident came to light  on Thursday  evening when her husband returned home. He knocked on the door but there was no response. On peeping through the window, Anand found his wife hanging from a ceiling fan.

He alerted his neighbours who informed the JJ Nagar police.

The deceased left no suicide note. Preliminary investigations revealed that there was a family dispute over a trivial issue.

"We will conduct the postmortem once we take statements from the victim's parents. They are on their way to the city from Andhra Pradesh." Police said.

JJ Nagar police have registered a case of unnatural death and investigating are on.
