Rs 22 cr sanctioned for developmental works in Ashokapuram

District in-charge and Public WorksMinister HCMahadevappa on Friday said that the state government has sanctioned Rs 22 crore for various development activities in Ashokapuram.

Speaking to media at the Government guest house here the Minister said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has sanctioned the grants to take up the works in the area. While Public Workshas released Rs 10 crore, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) will provide Rs 12 crore, the Minister informed and said that the funds would be utilised for road works and drinking water projects.

The government has also agreed to sanction additional Rs 20 crore for the construction of Dr BRAmbedkar Bhavan in the city, he said.

Mahadevappa said, "The Congress government has sanctioned Rs 70 crore for the drinking water project at T Narasipur taluk. The CM would announce funds for the renovation of DDevaraja Market and Zoo parking in the next budget."

According to Mahadevappa, the government has released Rs 3,000 crore for the development of Mysuru district after he took charge as district in-charge minister.
