Sex abuse charge against Indira Canteen supervisor

A 35-year-old woman working as a cashier at an Indira Canteen has filed a sexual harassment complaint against a senior colleague.

She told the Bandepalya police on Friday that Satish (34), an ex-army man, was harassing her for sex. He has denied the charge.

The cashier works at the Indira Canteen in Bommanahalli.

Satish was spreading false rumours among canteen workers, she said.  He had also spoken to her husband in a drunken stupor, claiming she was in an illicit relationship, her complaint says.

A resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Bandepalya, the complainant is married and has a son. She had joined the canteen three months ago.  Satish, a resident of Bommanahalli, was a junior commissioned officer in the army. He supervises 15 canteens in the Bommanahalli Assembly constituency.

Satish said she was nursing a grudge after he sacked her for misappropriation of funds. He told the police at least three employees had complained against her.  "Based on the complaint, we have taken a statement from Satish and investigation is underway," said a senior police officer.

It is a dispute between two individuals and has nothing to do with the Indira Canteen management, he told DH
