<p class="title">Hundreds of infected chickens have been culled by the animal husbandry department in Dasarahalli and Yelahanka zone to contain the deadly bird flu.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"A total of 942 chickens in the infected zone have been culled and disposed of. Sanitation and disinfection is in progress," said Dr Ramesh V, assistant director, BBMP, Yelahanka zone.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"In order to prevent further spreading of the H5N1 virus, we have culled these birds and also shut down all poultry-related shops in the infected and surveillance zones," he said. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Ramesh said the situation is under control and there is no need for panic.</p>
