Yeddyurappa must rein in errant BJP leaders: Patil

Last Updated 07 January 2018, 18:21 IST

Communist Party of India (CPI) Central Committee member Siddanagowda Patil ridiculed that BJP leaders Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde, MP Pratap Simha, Shobha Karandlaje and MLA C T Ravi would undo BJP state unit president Yeddyurappa's political career if they are not reined in at the earliest.

Speaking at the 12th district conference here on Sunday, Patil said that the four leaders are "professionals in issuing irresponsible statements". "The leaders have been speaking against secularism in a derogatory manner. If they are not controlled immediately, they will finish off Yeddyurappa," Patil said.

The four leaders, instead of raising their voices against issues faced by the working class, farmers and common people, have been indulging in communal issues, he said.

Charging two national parties - BJP and Congress - Patil alleged that the leaders of both the parties are anti-social elements. "Congress party leaders have looted people's money and the BJP leaders are selling the country," he said.

He alleged that the Union government, which had sanctioned loans for corporate companies with people's money, later waived it off. "Is it a matter of pride for the government," he questioned.

Patil alleged that as the name of Narendra Modi has been mentioned in Panama papers, he is not disclosing the list of names.
