Former minister and JD(S) leader B A Jeevijaya predicted a victory for the JD(S) in the forthcoming Assembly election. H D Kumaraswamy will become the chief minister of Karnataka, he added.

Briefing reporters here on Sunday, he said the people of the state have appreciated the welfare programmes initiated by H D Kumaraswamy during his 20-months as a chief minister during the coalition government. Farmers and the common man are dejected over the administration of the BJP and the Congress. The people of the state are favouring the regional political party, said Jeevijaya.

Youth JD(S) state working president B H Chandrashekar said Madhu Bangarappa will take part in the JD(S) convention on January 25. An awareness of the welfare schemes initiated by H D Kumaraswamy will be created.

JD(S) president Sanketh Poovaiah called upon the party workers to organise the party at the grassroots level. No development activities have been initiated in the district by the national level parties. The people of the district have lost faith in the national level political parties, he said.
