Vipassana Insan, the chairperson of the controversial Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa, has fled the sect. She is one of the key aides of jailed sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

Vipassana is reportedly on the run after arrest warrants were issued against her. On Tuesday, a special investigation team of the Haryana Police carried out raids at various places to nab the accused. Vipassana has been booked on charges of conspiracy to incite violence that took place in Panchkula on August 25 after the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim. As many as 38 people had lost their lives in the violence.

Vipassana had on earlier occasions deposed before police in connection with the case. But in the wake of crucial evidence that points to her involvement in the crime, the police said they felt her custodial interrogation was necessary.

Another prime accused in the case had been in the hiding inside the Dera in Sirsa for months. But the police had no clue of his whereabouts until Saturday when he was finally arrested from inside the sect.

One of the prime suspects in the case, Dr Aditya Insan, is still untraceable even after five months of the violence. The police have announced a cash bounty of Rs 10 lakh for any tip-off leading to his arrest.

The police managed to get an arrest warrant issued from a local court against Vipassana after pleading sufficient evidence against her.

Senior police officers said Vipassana will be arrested soon. Police sources said she was present during the meeting held on August 17 prior to the date on which the CBI court was to pronounce judgement in two cases of rape against sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

He is serving a 20-year jail term in two separate rape cases.
