GTD's son moves HC seeking cancellation of FIR

A petition has been filed by Harish, son of JD(S) MLA G T Devegowda, and three others, challenging the FIR registered against them by the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) with regard to the Karnataka Housing Board land acquisition scam.

Harish has moved the court, challenging the constitution of the ACB.

According to the petitioner, the ACB probe and subsequent registration of an FIR were an act of revenge by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is expected to contest against Devegowda in the Assembly elections from the Chamundeshwari constituency in Mysuru. The ACB has named Harish as accused number 44 in the compensation payment scam.

Justice K N Phaneendra asked for the matter to be listed for hearing before a division bench.
