A special health camp for endosulfan victims will be held at Kaniyoor, Koila and Bellare on January 16. It will be held at Kokkada on January 17 and at Panaje PHC on January 20, stated a release from DHO.
Last date extended
The last date for submitting applications for admission to Morarji Desai Residential Schools has been extended to January 25. Students who are pursuing their fifth standard can apply. Yuvajana mela
The district administration, department of youth empowerment and sports will organise the state-level Yuvajana mela at Sudana residential School in Puttur in the month of February, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil said.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting, he said that about 5,000 youths from 30 districts will take part. The state government provides Rs 40 lakh for the Yuvajana mela and Rs 5 lakh for the Yuvajana prashasthi.
Folk teams invited
Folk teams have been invited to take part in a procession to be held as part of Rani Abbakka Utsava. The utsava will be held at Kolya in Someshwara on February 3 and 4. Dollu kunitha, Kerala style chende, Simha kunitha, Yakshagana, Kodavara nritya, Veeragase, Kathakali, Theyyam, Pata kunitha, Daff and others can take part. For details contact: 9448529524/ 9448622622.
