With lakhs expected to attend the festival held once in 12 years, elaborate arrangements are being made by the district administration and drinking water unit is one among them. This would ensure uninterrupted water supply to all the seven wards coming under the town limits and also, to the 12 satellite towns being constructed as part of the festival.

Gram panchayat member S V Lokesh said, "Water would be supplied from the pump house to the additional water storage unit of five lakh litres at Nagaiahanakoppal, and three water storage units at Srikantanagar with 9.5 lakh litres capacity each."

Speaking to DH, KUWS&DB Assistant Executive Engineer H N Jagadish said, "Six motors of 60 HP, six-panel boards, and three control boards have been installed at the pump house. Additional motors have been used to lift water from the borewells."

K A Nanda of Shuba Sales, Bengaluru, who has been awarded the contract said, "The works have been completed within the deadline and the contractor will be maintaining the unit for one year.
