A few Syndicate members of the University of Mysore (UoM) have recommended Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's name for a honorary doctorate.
In a meeting, on Thursday, a few members suggested to the Syndicate to consider Siddaramaiah for the degree. The members also proposed the names of seer Shivaratri Desikendra Swami of Suttur mutt, Saalumarada Thimmakka and former ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar for the honorary doctorate.
UoM Registrar D Bharati said, the Syndicate members have proposed 10 names. A committee, headed by the vice chancellor, will be constituted and 3-4 names will be finalised, she said. The 99th convocation is likely to be held in the first week of February.
