<p>Work on the steel flyover from Minerva Circle to Hudson Circle is all set to begin in a month.</p>.<p>Funds for the project - Rs 138.8 crore - was allocated from the chief minister's Nagorathana Scheme.</p>.<p>The tender has been allocated to M V R Company and the BBMP has set an 18-month deadline to complete the works.</p>.<p>The flyover will reduce traffic congestion along Minerva Circle, Bharat Talkies, Shivaji Talkies, Townhall, LIC Head Office, Halasuru Gate Police Station and Hudson Circle.</p>.<p>Earlier, the BBMP had approached the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for a detailed report on the project.</p>.<p>According to the inspection report submitted in 2008, during the morning peak hours (9 am-11 am), an average of 10,327 vehicles use the stretch between Minerva Circle and Hudson Circle.</p>.<p>During evening peak hours (4 pm-7 pm), an average 12,271 vehicles use this stretch.</p>.<p>"According to the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), a flyover should be constructed on roads where more than 10,000 vehicles ply per hour," said N Manjunath Prasad, BBMP commissioner.</p>.<p>"This project has been approved by the Metropolitan Planning Committee...soon we are starting the project," Prasad added.</p>
