Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched several development projects in the CV Raman Nagar Assembly constituency, being eyed by Public Works Department (PWD) Minister H C Mahadevappa for the upcoming polls.

Speaking on the occasion, Siddaramaiah said: "We have been doing so many things for you people. Who will you bless for this?" "We will vote for Mahadevappa," some people from the audience shouted. They were also shouting slogans hailing the PWD minister.

But Siddaramaiah said, "We have not come here to declare contestants from this constituency. We will give the ticket for the person whom you recommend."

The local BJP MLA A C Raghu had complained against the government, saying, "Your MLA was not even active in Vidhana Sabha and he has neither met or discussed the works. All he knows is to mark attendance and take TA&DA."

Siddaramaiah hit back, "I think he (Raghu) has not come fearing failure in the upcoming elections. This is a government programme and he is just here to take TA&DA...This person, who has missed the government function, talks about the MLA."

Meanwhile, Bengaluru Development Minister K J George said, "It is important to find out what is the cause of the fire at Bellandur lake."
