BJP Parivarthana Yatra on January 24

A total of 12,000 BJP workers will take part in a convention as part of the BJP's Parivarthana Yatra at Gandhi Maidan on January 24.

Briefing reporters here on Monday, MLC M P Sunil Subramani said that the Parivarthana Yatra is being organised in order to free Karnataka from Congress. He added that there was a good response for the Yatra across the state.

State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa will take part in it. By glorifying Tipu during the sadhana samavesha in Madikeri, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has hurt the sentiments of people of the district. Siddaramaiah should understand why people in the district are against Tipu. Tipu Jayanthi was organised for vote bank politics, he alleged.

When B S Yeddyurappa was the chief minister, he had banned lottery and arrack. He had released Rs 1,800 crore to take up development work in the district. During the Congress-rule, the district has seen only MLALAD grants, said Subramani.

Condemning the behaviour of ZP CEO, Prashanth Kumar Mishra, allegedly slapping a technical assistant in Somwarpet, he said action should be initiated against him.

People were brought from Mysuru, Piriyapattana, Hassan and Sullia for the Congress convention. For the BJP's convention, workers will come from every gram panchayat, he said.
