MP M Veerappa Moily on Wednesday said, "My novel and epic are like autobiographies. Hence, there is no need to write an autobiography."

Speaking at a programme organised to release his epic 'Bahubali Ahimsa Digvijayam', at Gommatanagar here Moily said that Jain religion preaches non-violence (Ahimsa) and proclaims it as their ideology.

"Bahubali had influenced me for 70 years and made me write this great epic. Let people take him as an ideal person for the peace in the world," he said.

The credit of the epic totally goes to Jain seer Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji, he said.

Moily said that he was the only legislator from his caste. "I was elected as the legislator from Karkala constituency six times and later elected as an MP from Chikkaballapur twice. I have maintained five ministries in the Union government. I will not forget all these," he said.

Dhramasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade released the book. Earlier, the epic was brought to the venue in a silver palanquin. Jain seer Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji, Malathi Moily, Animal Husbandry Minister A Manju and others were present.

Bahubali Ahimsa Digvijayam kavyabhisheka was held at 2.30 pm and an interaction programme with Moily was held later.

Students of Moodubidre Alvas Educational Institution presented group singing programme. A Yakshagana based on the book 'Bharathesha Vaibhava Mattu Bahubali Kavyabhisheka' was staged.
