Govt grants Rs 2 cr for K C Reddy statue

The government has released Rs 2 crore to the Public Works Department (PWD) towards installation of Karnataka's first chief minister K C Reddy's statue on the Vidhana Soudha premises, reports DHNS from Bengaluru.

Reddy's family members have been demanding that his statue be installed on the Soudha premises for a long time. According to an order issued by the Kannada, Culture and Information department, the PWD has been asked to get 4G exemption from the Finance department for the installation of the statue, which means it will be exempt from the tendering process.
