Mangalore police had nabbed a total of nine persons from here on October 6, 2008, including two women. The other arrested were Mohammed Ali, Javed Ali, Rafeeq, Fakeer Ahmed, Mohideen and Hasan Kabir. The police had recovered a bike, an airgun, equipment used for target practice, Ammonium Sulphate used for blasts, different chemicals and engineering kits from the arrested. Pune police during their investigations have found out that the bombs used for blasts in Pune were made in Vitlamakki. The area is still uninhabited.
It can be recalled here that various senior police officials including State Internal Security SP Sudhakar had visited Vitlamakki recently.
