EC rule worries Gram Panchayat candidates

According to the Election Commission Order No 11 EUB-02, special instruction 2, candidates can even declare their assets on a plain white sheet or on the photocopy of the stipulated format and sign it. There is no fee for the same. As against the existing order, some officials are asking the candidates to declare their assets on a stamp paper in presence of a notary. Due to this misleading information, the candidates are running around for stamp paper. A candidate has to shell out about Rs 1,000 to file nomination.
