Cong workers gherao KPCC chief over move to induct Anand Singh

Congress workers laid a siege to KPCC president G Parameshwara at Hosapete in the district on Thursday, opposing the move to induct BJP legislator Anand Singh into the party.

They raised slogans against Singh and insisted that he should not be taken into the party.

Parameshwara was in the city to oversee the arrangements for the state-wide convention of Scheduled Castes here on February 10. The workers continued to protest, even though the KPCC chief told them that a final decision with regard to inducting Singh was yet to be taken.

The police dispersed the workers to make space for Parameshwara's car to leave.

The party workers then arrived at the guest house where Parameshwara was staying and continued sloganeering.

The police stopped them when they tried to enter the guest house.

In Ballari, Minister Santosh Lad told reporters that he would welcome Singh and Kudligi MLA B Nagendra, if they were inducted into the party.
