'Padmaavat' crosses Rs 50 cr mark

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat', is off to a superb start. The movie has already crossed the Rs 50 crore-mark in three day of its release. In a week's time, it is expected to cross Rs 100 crore business.

From the Box Office collections, the film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, has been doing well despite protests across the country.

The film was released in Mumbai on Thursday.  Veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that the four-day collections have crossed Rs 56 crore.The film, according to reports, is made at a budget of nearly Rs 180 crore.

"#Padmaavat has a HUMONGOUS Day 2... Had it been a smooth release [some states are not screening the film], the all-India biz would've touched Rs 40 cr... Wed 5 cr, Thu 19 cr, Fri 32 cr. Total: Rs 56 cr. India biz… SUPERB!"

Actress Deepika Padukone too tweeted on the success of the film. "Boom," she tweeted and tagged another tweet, that mentions the Rs 56 crore business. "it's never happened before...I cannot even begin to express how happy & proud this makes me feel!!!Thank You for all the love," she tweeted.

"We're grateful to all our fans for the love. Thank you!@RanveerOfficial @deepikapadukone @shahidkapoor @aditiraohydari @Viacom18Movies @Bhansali_Prod @TSeries," tweeted @filmpadmaavat, the official twitter handle of the film, that had been mired in controversies.
